I cannot believe what I found during my research today.

As somebody whose ancestors hail from the region, I was delighted to find out that there is a village near Bhuj whose entire population are descendants of Ottoman Turks.

These folk speak Kutchi which is spoken by most of my Kutchi relatives settled in other parts of India. This includes my entire wife’s family, living in Bangalore and Cochin, and my late mother’s family living in Trivandrum, Kerala, India.
